Fogelsville, Wednesday
I walk on dappled sunspots
under arched maples
and cloudless dome
watch leaves fall
to woodland floor
hear drops,
feel their spatter
on my shoulders
carry on and know
the tall timber
in its leaved glory
rustling in the wind
weeps for me,
rain I hold locked in.
